If you were there, what would you see? Well, the whole thing, 360 degrees. And because Facebook wants users to have the full experience, the social network has introduced Live 360 last week, “a new way to go live on Facebook”.

More engaging, more fun, more real. This is the most authentic way for the user to feel part of what’s happening, no matter the location.

The first Live 360 video was broadcasted by National Geographic on Dec 13th in the Utah desert at the Mars Desert Research Station, a Martian habitat simulator. Viewers had the opportunity to follow the live streaming while actively discovering the surroundings.

YouTube had already launched 360-degree Live streams at the beginning of this year, but only users with a special encoder software set up on their computer can live stream. Facebook, however, is set to allow everyone with a 360 mobile device to make the most of this new functionality.

Facebook announced that the new feature will be available to more Pages via the Live API in the coming months and, eventually, it will be rolled out to all profiles as well.

For businesses, this means there will be new ways to create engaging and powerful content for your audiences. So stay tuned to discover more about Live 360 and get in touch if you need help with your social media content creation.
