Essex County Council

Safeguarding with Social Media

Brief

To train professionals working across the county on how to utilise social media safely in an early years setting.

Essex County Council understands the power and the pitfalls involved with using social media in an educational context. We’re proud to be delivering ongoing training sessions for their early years professionals, that look at how to use social media effectively and safely, whilst aligning it to the Early Years Framework Strategy.

Solution

Social media is a powerful communication tool for many nurseries and schools, but it does not come without risk.

As specialists in early years and educational social media, our training covers safeguarding, online moderation of content, Ofsted-friendly strategies, and CEOP, as well as how to use social media to increase school-readiness and extend learning in to the home setting.

‘The course was very well received by practitioners. It covered the sensitive subjects of permissions, safeguarding, and appropriate photos, enabling practitioners to build closer links with families and give them ideas for extending their children’s learning at home.'
